The Intangibles of Advent

“But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.”

Luke 2:10 NRSV

As advent comes to a close, the need for Christmas is sorely evident.

Everything I have read in the past few days echoes the exigency of hope in the form of a cloth swaddled babe in a barn.

The need to know that innocence is still present among us.

That joy always has the last word, even in the midst of fear.

That peace is a gift God gives to us  that we are meant to pass on.

Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace among those whom he favors!”

Luke 2:14 NRSV

In case you haven’t seen this, here is a link for love in action for those in the Newtown Community. Thank you to Sheila at for posting this.

As this will be my last post until after Christmas, let me wish you and your families holidays filled to bursting with the holy intangibles of hope, peace, joy, and love.
