Waldorf Inspiration for Toddlers

I have been reading some wonderful things about guiding and companion-ing toddlers in their development. I finished reading Simplicity Parenting, and loved it. My biggest take away was confirmation that childhood needs to be an unhurried and sacred time.

One of my favorite blogs for the past couple of years has been Parenting Passageway. This site is so RICH with well researched and thoughtful information.  I think if it were my only resource I would have more than enough to go on. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Carrie!

I re-read her post today on Waldorf in the Home with the One and Two year old and was reminded of the importance of finger plays and songs to assist vocabulary, rather than lots of adult chatter. My 20 month daughter loves Mother Goose, and wants to hear these rhymes over and over again. I adore Rosemary Wells‘ illustrations in the copy we have. The one I found online isn’t our exact book, but very similar.

I am so enjoying this stage of her development!
