“I pledge my head to clearer thinking,
My heart to greater loyalty,
My hands to larger service,
and my health to better living,
for my club, my community, my country, and my world.”
Our 4-H club was in a parade this morning!
It was the 100th anniversary of the high school in the town where the amazing leader of our group grew up.
Making signs for the float(truck) was a family affair last night. We ran out of H’s and were glad that the dollar store was open this morning so that “Hig Scool” could become “High School!”
This woman has been working with 4-H students for almost 30 years, volunteering numerous hours to the cause although her own children have long since graduated. She has served on our town’s city council and really strives to help young people develop leadership skills and be involved in the local community.
“Learn by doing” is the 4-H slogan. Simple and true.
Lots of gentle encouragement and growth, opportunities to learn meaningful skills, and a warm and welcoming environment.
4-H has been such a blessing to Gray and our family.
